What should your
clean cost?

An estimate, not a quote. Cleaners set their own rates and price the home in front of them - which is why every rate on Match Maid is shown before you make contact, and why nobody bids for your job.

How it gets to the number
No black box. Three inputs, and you can check each of them against the price page.
1. Hours, from the size of the home
About an hour as a base, plus roughly half an hour per bedroom and a third of an hour per bathroom. That puts a one-bedroom flat near two hours and a three-bedroom house near three, which matches what cleans actually take.
2. Hours again, from the type of clean
A deep clean runs about 2.2 times a regular clean of the same home, an end-of-tenancy clean about 2.4 - they cover the oven, inside the fridge, interior windows, inside cupboards, carpet and a wall wash on top of the usual.
3. Hours a third time, from how often you book
A weekly clean takes about 15% less time than a fortnightly one; a monthly clean about 15% more; a one-off about 40% more. The hourly rate is not what changes when you book regularly - the hours are.
Then the rate
$35-$50 an hour for a regular clean, $50-$65 for a deep or end-of-tenancy clean. Those are the bands cleaners advertise on Match Maid as at September 2026, not an industry guess.
